Actually, I'm no longer sure what day it is. Jarin and I have returned to Beijing on the overnight train from X'ian. We spent the day yesterday at the Forbidden City, at Hoa Hai, and Bai Hai Park. Tonight we will meet the Winterim group at the train station as they set off to follow our footsteps to X'ian and Beijing. Although we have talked with Mr. Liu each day since we left Quinhuangdao, we have not had much direct contact with Nancy or Dan. We have passed along a few helpful hints and look forward to seeing them this evening to share stories.
A few pictoral highlights from the last couple of days and a preview of what the students will be seeing over the next week:
My little camera does not begin to do justice to the vastness of this archeological site-- 7000 warriors, each with different facial expressions buried under 20 feet of soil and only discovered in 1974. Most are still buried.
The Forest of Tablets museum houses dozens of huge stone tablets with reflections on the writings of Confucius.
